2022 – Musings & Reflections…

I have finished my 5th year in business and I am so grateful for my journey thus far.  This past year has been my busiest and this brings me so much joy!  I truly feel honoured and humbled to be trusted with creating homes and home environments that bring my clients happiness, contentment and peace.  Doesn’t that sound good?

Tools of the Trade

Earlier this year I decided to do some ‘Behind The Scenes’ investment marketing.  I am pleased at the growth in my SEO & SEM, thanks to my team in Montreal for this!  I also have been collaborating with a Pinterest Manager.  My Pinterest Game has seen phenomenal growth!  And I’m super excited about that!  Lastly, I have been locking down my systems and processes.  Happily, that was something on my list for 2022, and I can check it off.  I mean, there’s always more to add-and that’s pretty exciting too.

My blog posts slowed down a bit this year, but my focus was to create Evergreen content.  I’m really proud of the blog and its content-there’s so much in there.  Next year will continue with blog posts and a more interactive platform- to keep things interesting!

One of the things that I did earlier this year was to have my website redesigned.  There are beautiful images of my work in my Portfolio, and throughout the site.  Thanks to my website designer for this.  More photos will be added soon, and I’m so very grateful for my friendship with my super talented photographer!

…more Gratitude

I have much appreciation for my friends in the industry, and in particular someone who has been in design for 25+ years…  In this crazy design business it’s one thing to love all things design, but it’s a whole new animal running your own business!  And, it’s not for the faint of heart!  Struggles and disappointments, even setbacks are real.  Sometimes you feel like you’re completely alone in it all.  The reality is, everyone is going through something – in one form or another.  And, I’ve learned to reach out to my friends- this is really helpful and provides not only support but often the overlooked perspective.

Priorities

So, after all that, what always matters most?  Family!!   I’m so blessed to be loved and supported by my husband and kids!  They keep me grounded, too.

Looking ahead…

Looking to 2023 is so exciting!  We are renovating our own kitchen and bathroom!  WOOHOO!  I’ll definitely be sharing this project with you.  Along with that, some new work projects for me will be a house renovation, a Family Room & Dining Room and a Home Bar, even a Laneway House!

My goals for my business are to continue to maintain the established relationships I have with my vendors and partners, AND, I’m keen to try commercial projects.  I’m just putting it out there!  ?  We’ll see what happens next…

Thank you for all your support and encouragement!  Thank you for trusting me, I’m so truly grateful for that.

Happy New Year!
