MEET INTERIOR DESIGNER
Melissa Hardwick
Years ago I used to get my kicks spending hours and hours building Barbie houses rather than actually dressing or playing with them. As a kid I lived in a few different architectural styles of houses from Victorian era to 60’s Builder Box to Edwardian. This fusion of traditional elements and modern lines, coupled with the warmth and elegance I distinctly remember, has steered my path and focused my aesthetic in the design process.
Growing up in the 60’s and 70’s and 80’s my parents embraced the crazy design trends and nuances their budget allowed! Think bead curtains, orange shag carpet and later antiques and Persian rugs! Motivation now, to create and shape the narrative of your home…….
Travelling started early for me! The joy of international travel to Europe and later many other destinations prompted the pursuit of happiness found in layered objects, organic materials, and artisan craftsmanship. I’m also very inspired by my surroundings, my love of architecture, colour, pattern and texture. An award winning heritage renovation helped as well!
